A New Day Dawning

I was cautiously optimistic about the so-called "blue wave" that was set to come after Election Day.   After all it was projected that Kamala Harris would win the election in 2024 and look what happened there.   So I did my best to avoid listening to any election results though a few posts popped out on Facebook since I play a lot of slot games and Candy Crush.    The few that popped in my feed said that the democrat was the winner which was a positive.   I went to bed Tuesday night feeling much better about the country than I did when I went to bed that fateful November night in 2024.

This morning I woke up and the country did not disappoint.  Democrats have managed to take control of both the House and Senate.   Only Alaska and Mississippi remain still counting their results for the Senate and it could take Alaska up to two weeks to finalize results.

I know things won't change instantly after this though Orange himself made some interesting remarks in light of the losses of his party.    He remains delusional as usual.    He claims that the Repugnant-cans lost because "[he] wasn't on the ballot".    He claims if he was on the ballot, he would've won by a landslide.   Oddly enough he also said that "we'll work with the Democrats, and we'll, you know, look forward to working with them."   This is in direct contrast to when he said he would veto every bill from the Democrats that comes his way.

What he fails to acknowledge is that the Repugnant-cans lost because of him.   Why would so many of them distance themselves from him?   In my home state Indiana, Frank MrVan easily won the 1st Congressional District seat against his opponent Barb Regnitz.    In her ads, she doesn't even admit to being a Republican since the party has become what Orange himself likes to say - a disgrace.   I have to say I got a good laugh with her AI ad showing MrVan supposedly taking food away from kids.   A mess.  Goodbye biatch.

We didn't have any Senate races in Indiana but I followed closely the Senate rate in Michigan between Democrat Abdul El-Sayed and Republican Mallory McMorrow.    Orange kept calling El-Sayed a radical jihadist.   Thankfully El-Sayed got the last laugh at Orange and his cronies.    Congratulations to Abdul El-Sayed!!!   Orange is such a joke, a joke and a half, the last laugh is on him.

I was disappointed earlier that Texas chose not to have Jasmine Crockett as their Senator but was happy that the chosen Democrat James Talarico won the race ultimately.

The Democrats definitely need to take advantage of the momentum.   They do have the majority in the Senate and House so they could theoretically attempt to impeach Orange and his cabinet.   But is that the best strategy?   They've tried impeaching Orange twice before and failed.    Maybe with them having the majority it may succeed but it would require 2/3 of the Senate to impeach and while the Democrats control the Senate (54 - 44 so far), they do not have 2/3 so I feel like it would be a waste of time to pursue this.    The focus should be on working to get affordability back to the everyday American.    Things won't change overnight and the damage that was done will take time to recover but I do have hope that in time, things will be better.   We shall see.
